Africa Fair Launches their Spring/Summer 2005 Collection at Premiere Classe in Paris
Paris, September 3, 2004 - Africa Fair today launched its Summer 2005 collection of modern, afro-inspired fashion
accessories at Premiere Classe in Paris, France. The range includes both work by contemporary jewelry designers new to
the collection as well as an extension of some of the most popular handbag and jewelry lines.
"I am very excited to be introducing the work of top South African hip designers such as
Philippa Green and Beverley Price into this collection. Their work has been widely recognised
within South Africa and it is fantastic to be introducing them to the international market place through the
Africa Fair collection," said Jennifer Fair, owner of the company.
Philippa Green has a highly innovative line of jewelry made of Perspex, nylon, silver and rubber.
The collection presents a wide range of her signature Perspex cuffs including those with floral motifs
in nylon stitching or silver studs. The floral theme is continued in her striking silver hand engraved earrings.
Beverley Price's work captures everyday brands and images in enamelled miniatures and combines these
together to make funky jewelry to add a lively touch to an outfit. Her work is suited to museum stores who
can have her create wearable jewelry using the images from their collections.
Two other new additions to the collection are the bold and striking pendants by ceramicist Nicola
Harris and the feminine ribbon and shell necklaces by Joybelle - a touch of summer to be worn around the neck.
The popular Mielie free-spirited hooked rug handbags and Get Wired's crocheted wire and bead jewelry
range has been extended with new designs and color combinations to capture the euphoric spirit of summer 2005.
The Africa Fair Collection is available in stores in Paris and New York, as well as other locations
across the USA. For a full list of stockists, please visit www.africafair.com.
